Last painting for 2015! "Barn kittens", 9"x12", oil
This year was a very good one for me and my art!
As I grow older I seem to be more and more focused on doing the one thing that makes me happiest, painting. I have come to understand that I should not wait for inspiration to appear before getting to my easel. Inspiration shows up when I show up!
In 2015 every choice I made was weighed against the time it took away from ( or gave to) painting.
Every option was put on scale and on the other side was my art...for example, family gatherings weighed more, pointless shopping sprees weighed less. This approach truly guided me in my decisions.
As a new member of the Sonoran Arts league (http://www.sonoranartsleague.org) In 2016 I look forward to being involved in the art community of my second residence in Arizona . There will be many interesting challenges in the upcoming year and I plan to continue making decisions that keep me in line with my artistic goals. I also plan on showing up at my easel every day!
My goal is to paint minimum of 40 paintings this year (but I will never sacrifice quality for quantity)!
Thankyou for reading my post. Any feedback is appreciated! Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!
