Recent Works
I walk through the world as an observer, silently recording images of frozen moments in time, of people going about their everyday lives, doing everyday things, just being themselves.
I stand mesmerized, waiting for that one moment, the second when everything seems to suddenly slow down, when the scene reaches a crescendo, and then I snap a photo!
Those people will never know how much they inspired me in that one enchanting instant.
Later, in my studio, I will strive to squeeze all of those emotions into one single image rendered in oil paint or drawn in charcoal, carbon, graphite or pencils.
Every day I see normal activities going on all around me... wonderful daily routines and rituals that exist only for a fleeting moment. They happen suddenly and disappear just as fast, leaving no trace behind except if I have painted or drawn them. That is how stolen moments become frozen moments.
Fate brought these people before my lens for one tiny moment in time. Our paths will probably never cross again. They will never know I exist. But I will remember them and so will everyone who sees them in my work.
My wish is for each and everyone of us to be able to catch a glimpse of our own lives through these tender stolen moments.
This is my goal and art is my passion.
